Puerto Colón in Costa Adeje is one of the main departure points for whale watching in South Tenerife. Our 3-hour sailing tours take small groups into the Atlantic waters off Tenerife’s south coast, where resident pilot whales and several dolphin species can be encountered throughout the year.
Sail from Puerto Colón with an experienced local crew operating under the required authorisations for cetacean watching. Our captains know the waters of South Tenerife, local sea conditions and the responsible approach required when observing whales and dolphins.
Resident pilot whales live in these waters throughout the year, which gives visitors a very good chance of seeing cetaceans in their natural habitat. Dolphins, sea turtles, flying fish and seabirds may also be encountered. Wildlife is unpredictable, so individual sightings can never be guaranteed.
Whale and dolphin watching is possible throughout the year in Tenerife because pilot whales are resident in the waters off the island’s south coast. There is no single “best” month for sightings. Morning departures can sometimes offer calmer sea conditions, while midday and afternoon trips provide the same opportunity to observe marine wildlife.
