How to get to Puerto Colón
Puerto Colón sits between Playa de Fañabé and Playa de las Américas, on the Costa Adeje seafront. Most hotels in Fañabé, Torviscas and San Eugenio are a short walk along the promenade; from La Caleta or the upper part of Adeje it is a short taxi ride. From Tenerife South airport it is about 20 minutes by car. Arrive 15 minutes before departure — your pontoon number is in the booking confirmation.
Staying further away? Our van picks you up for up to 8 guests, paid to the driver: from €10 per person between Los Cristianos and Playa Paraíso.
Why Costa Adeje is the best place to start
The whale-watching area off Costa Adeje begins close to the coast, so we usually reach the pilot whales in 20–40 minutes. That leaves more of your 3 hours for the animals and the swim stop, and less for the journey.
Puerto Colón is also where our whole fleet is based: Mizendoha, Lina Siete, Madoudou and SkyLine 1. If one yacht is full on your date, another usually has seats at the same time and price.
What you are likely to see
| Animal | How often we see them |
|---|---|
| Short-finned pilot whales | Almost every trip, all year round |
| Bottlenose dolphins | About half of our trips |
| Sea turtles | Sometimes, mostly in summer |
The sea off south-west Tenerife is part of the Teno-Rasca marine protected area. Mizendoha, Lina Siete and Madoudou are Barco Azul authorised, so we watch whales the way the Canary Islands rules require.

Good to know in Costa Adeje
- Best time of day: the 09:30 trip usually has the calmest sea; the 15:30 trip has the softest light for photos.
- Combine it: after the morning trip, lunch on the Puerto Colón promenade or spend the afternoon at Playa de Fañabé or Playa del Duque.
What’s included on every whale trip
A sandwich (regular, vegan or gluten-free), fruit, drinks — beer, wine, coffee, soft drinks and water — snorkel gear, life jackets, insurance and a swim stop at Diego Hernández beach when the sea allows.
